PBS for Young Children - Learning environments need to promote and support the development of social competence for ALL children. Learning environments for young children include the home, preschool, childcare, and other community settings. Positive Behavior Support (PBS) for young children provides a framework for defining and addressing a behavior concern from within the learning environment rather than just from within the child. In a PBS approach, thinking that “The child has a problem” replaces thinking that “The child is a problem.”
