Upcoming Appearances by U.S. Dept. of Education Officials on No Child Left Behind

Senior U.S. Department of Education officials will travel the country in the coming week, educating parents, teachers and education professionals on the details of President Bush's historic education reform, the No Child Left Behind Act. Below are the key No Child Left Behind engagements for the upcoming week.

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 14th

Dr. Robert Pasternack, Assistant Secretary for Special Education and Rehabilitative Services will discuss No Child Left Behind and Special Education at the Michigan Association of Administrators of Special Education (MAASE) in Lansing, Mich. Lansing Sheraton Hotel, 925 South Crytes Road, Lansing, Mich., 8:30 a.m. -10:15 a.m.

Dr. Robert Pasternack, Assistant Secretary for Special Education and Rehabilitative Services will give welcoming remarks regarding No Child Left Behind and IDEA at the OSERS/OELA/NICHD: First National Symposium on learning disabilities and English Language Learners in Washington, D.C. Academy for Educational Development, 1825 Connecticut Ave., NW, Washington, D.C., 6:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 16th

Susan Sclafani, Counselor to the Secretary, will speak about No Child Left Behind when she delivers the keynote address before the Co-nect conference in Atlanta. Hyatt Regency Hotel, 265 Peachtree Street North East, Atlanta, Ga., noon -1:30 p.m.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 17th

Susan Sclafani, Counselor to the Secretary, will discuss No Child Left Behind and Professional Development at the Alabama Staff Development Council's annual conference in Birmingham, Ala. Wynfrey Hotel, 1000 Riverchase Galleria Birmingham, Ala., 10:30 a.m. -noon.

Dr. Robert Pasternack, Assistant Secretary for Special Education and Rehabilitative Services will discuss No Child Left Behind and IDEA reauthorization at the National Council of State Education Attorneys annual conference in Baltimore. Wyndham Inner Harbor, 101 W Fayette Street, Baltimore, Md., 10:45 a.m. -12:15 p.m.
