Military Kids
Could be Rewarded For Good Grades

Military children in the top 10 percent of their class could
receive a $4,800 scholarship through the Stuhr Scholarship Fund,
which opened its 2006 application process this week.
The fund is open to children of active-duty, reserve, guard and
retired military members. Fund officials said six scholarships
will be awarded next year, with the scholarships paid out over
four years of college.
To qualify, applicants must:

Be a high school
senior with a top 10 ranking in their class.

Have a minimum
SAT score of 1250, or an ACT score of 27.

Have plans to
attend a four-year accredited college or university, not a
community college or military academy.

Applicants must
show proof of their family’s military history as well as
leadership in their communities and in extracurricular
activities.
Officials said
applications are available by e-mailing fund administrators at
stuhrstudents@earthlink.net, or by sending a self-addressed
envelope to: The Stuhr Scholarship Fund, 3630 Thompson Bridge
Road, Suite 15, Box 120, Gainesville, GA 30506. The deadline for
applications is March 1, 2006.
