American Foundation for the Blind (AFB)

Committed to improving accessibility in all aspects of life for people with vision loss—from cell phones to ATMs, on web sites and in workplaces. Learn about technology issues, the internet, telecommunications, voting rights, and digital rights management. Share your ideas and experiences using our message boards.

 

Greater Detroit Agency for the Blind and Visually Impaired (formerly Upshaw Institute for the Blind)

Dedicated to preventing blindness, reducing the impact of blindness, and advocating for those with severe vision loss. A United Way member agency offering services in the seven counties of southeast Michigan. A partner in Vision Connection, the new one-stop fully accessible and interactive global Internet portal for people who are blind or partially sighted, the professionals who serve them, the families and friends who support them and anyone looking for the latest information on vision impairment, its prevention and vision rehabilitation.

 

National Association for Parents of Children with Visual Impairments (NAPVI)

Enables parents to find information and resources for their children who are blind or visually impaired, including those with additional disabilities. Information about local chapters, workshops and publications to assist parents in helping children with visual impairment reach their potential are provided.
