Expanding Opportunities: Arc of Livingston Summer Camp Support

The Arc of Livingston is an agency that advocates for people with developmental disabilities and their families. In keeping with their mission to have children with special needs share in activities alongside their peers, the Arc is looking at how they can support parents and children to become involved in traditional summer camp experiences as well as other recreational activities such as soccer, 4-H and swimming.

In the summer of 2003, the Arc will be offering this support to children aged 4-18 who are eligible for special education services and reside in Livingston County.

This support is not intended to be a substitute for Extended School Year services that are provided through the school districts.

To express your interest, you may contact the Arc office at (517) 546-1228. Please have the following information available at the time of your call:

Age of your child

Area of interest (day camp, swimming, etc.)

Type of support your child would benefit from (transportation, financial, personal assistance, etc.)

*Resources are limited, so the earlier you express interest the better. Support is intended for non-segrigated activities.
