School: Setting up a School Area |

My dream was to
have a separate school room for homeschooling, but it never became
a reality. Our schooling memories are still special and my
children are educated. We spent many hours cuddled up together
with our books on the couch on a cold day. Sometimes, we headed
out back with a blanket and our school books and enjoyed the fresh
air and sunshine while we did our studies. Most of the time, we
were gathered around the kitchen table, and it was a nice place to
be.
Not many of us are fortunate enough to have an extra room for a
classroom, most of us work around the kitchen table or have small
areas with desks and bookshelves.
Even if you don't have a specific area, you can have plastic tubs
or boxes that can be brought out and stored back away out of
sight. You can have a card table or folding table to set up for
extra space for working on projects.
With whatever space you have available, establish a school area
and set up your supplies to be easily accessible and organized.
We've always kept a craft box with supplies for lots of craft
projects. Each child had their own (a Christmas present one year)
stocked with doilies, beads, different pasta shells, buttons,
glitters, glue, stickers, Popsicle sticks, and many other items.
They still have their craft boxes, after all these years.

Set up a work space for your student with
good lighting.

Supplies for each child: paper, pencils, erasers, crayons,
scissors, calculator, ruler, etc.

Supplies for the teacher: lesson plans, teacher books,
reward stickers, and whatever else you need.
|
 |
Set up a specific area to keep school books, reference
books and other books you'll need.

Have art and science supplies organized and handy.
