State schools superintendent donating raise to
Starfish Family Services

Michigan’s superintendent of public instruction, Tom Watkins, is
donating his salary increase to Starfish Family Services, the
nonprofit announced Tuesday.
Watkins also will challenge other leaders to donate their raises to
nonprofits that make a difference in the lives of children, according
to a new release from Starfish Family Services. The amount of Watkins’
salary increase was not released.
Inskter-based Starfish Family Services served more than 12,000
children and families through 20 programs last year. The nonprofit has
19 locations in 11 cities in Michigan.
