Republican State Board of Education candidate Michael Warren launched Friday his campaign Web site and proposed that all public school teachers and students should also be provided a site. "Enabling all of our students and educators to have their own Web sites would go a long way to preparing students to possess the skills and knowledge necessary for success in today's global, information economy," he said. "Web sites for teachers would enable students, teachers and parents to interact with greater ease and depth. Teachers could post assignments, study resources and lesson plans."

Mr. Warren said the state could use its buying power to provide the sites at relatively low cost to school districts.
